6g Galant LS

Good Morning,

I have a 92 Galant LS with a 4G63 2.0 SOHC and a F4A22 auto. Would the 1G DSM be the closest match for running gear and swapping or would it be a 2G. I know it's a noob question but I picked the car up cheap with only 92000K on it and I would really like to make it a sleeper that can be a daily driver. Thanks for the help.

What are you swapping now? And what is your exact question..It's kind of hard to decipher..

I'd like to put a 16V DOHC w/wo Turbo out of an 1G Eclipse/Talon/Laser in the car and work from that. Didn't mean to be unclear but could I use an engine and wiring out of 2G as well?

It sounds like you should be able to use the engine and harness out of the 1g n/t..But my question is why wouldn't you do an awd 6 bolt swap into this galant..The gvr-4's are awsome sleepers.. Even though it would be a clone gvr-4..

well you cant use the vr4 tranny because your galant is not awd but you can do a gst tranny and engine

What about the jdm galant tranny with the fwd switch thing..He wouldn't need a driveshaft and rear diff...And then later on down the road if he decides to go awd, he don't need a new tranny..


But the gst swap would be the easiest way to go..

yeah you can use the switchable tranny but i think it would be best to do the gst tranny to much work to make a fwd car awd.
