I have a 95 gst with a 7bolt motor. I was recently given a 91 nt eclipse with a relatively new 6bolt. Is it possible to do a six bolt swap with this motor or do I have to get a turbo 6bolt.

ok you can use this motor but your going to have to rip to down first...the 6bolt non turbo mtors have oil squiters they will blow up under boost. the pistions are 9.1 compression thats ok but theres not much metal on the top of the pistion so it cant handle much more then 10psi but everything else is fine

you just need to swap out the internals.

I've got an n/t block 6 bolt swap... but have turbo cams, wiseco pistons, crower rods, and you're good to go.

oh, and the squirters.

thats right i forgot about the cams being diffrent you could use your 2g head if you wanted to...maybe you could just put the cams in from your 2g head im not totally sure on that maybe someone would have a soild answer for you on that

I know this is an old thread but I know you guys like to keep it in one.

I recently pulled a 4G63 NT, I believe it was a 92 GS, Didn't have the flip lights like my 90 GS and it's a 6bolt. Anyways, I finally managed to snag a 2g 1995 GST, and I'm going to replace every gasket, belt, seal, on the engine before I think of dropping it in. I'm not 100% on these "oil squirters", and I do have OEM 1g pistons I can swap out for the 9.1's. I'm only aiming for a 350+ Daily driver, and I know by researching the 1g rods rock for that goal LOL. With those internals will those "oil squirers" still blow under boost even if I decide just to roll 6-10psi? I'd rather not destroy an engine I just have to drop in. And as for my water pump, and cutting the mount... can someone shed a little more detail on it, dont mean to be a burden, just hoping to knock this out this week. Thanks guys have a good one!

I,m using a n/t block with the n/t pistons and ive ran 18psi on the 14b and 25 psi on the 16g. I thought this block was going to spill all its guts out on the track, but it still holds on strong. I'm swaping in a hx35. I have been running this engine for 3yrs. now and this car the majority of the time its on the track.
