6 bolt swap 2ng gen CAS???

well im finishing up the swap on my friends car, im ready to put the motor in the car but heres the deal, were running a 6 bolt block with a 2nd gen head, we now have no crank angle sensor, and i kno u have to wire it in with the cam angle but it describes only using the 1st gen cas, i was just wondering since i put the 2nd gen back on the head if i can rewire it to work as the crank angle sensor just like the 1st gen, or do i have to get the 1st gen and use that? also when i place my order for dsm link do i want the cas inverted or not?

2) get a black top CAS, it's all you need.

^ What he said Because:

a 1G "Timing sensor" is really TWO complete sensors' in one unit. We all refer to this as a CAS (cam/crank angle sensor).

a 2G CAS is really a Cam Angle Sensor, and dedicated to the Intake Cam.
ALL 7 bolt 4g63s have the provisions for a 2g Crank Angle Sensor, only 95-99 use dedicated Crank Trigger plate/sensor.

When you install a 6 bolt into a 2g chassis/wiring harness you need to be able to simulate a crank sensor signal, and since the 6 bolt front case assembly didn't use a crank trigger, you have to use the Dual Sensor 1G CAS as RRE/Magnus has described.

The install/wiring is really straight forward. Print it out and refrence it while you do it, it makes it a whole lot easier.
