First off I'd like to introduce my self. I'm heavy into building hondas and have an all motor fully built k20 RSX from top to bottom.

I've never really took an interest to DSMs until a friend of mine swapped his car and asked for some help.

He has a 1995 Talon TSi, his original motor blew and ended up buying a 1990 6 Bolt Swap with a 1g CAS but is still using his 2G coil pack.

After taking a look at his wiring on his ecu, fixing a few things, and realizing his fire order was way off. I used logic to find the a firing order that worked. After all was said and done, the car went from not working, to know being able to connect to DSM link, and the car actually cranks AND starts for a few seconds by dies short there after.

I know for sure the problem is the firing order.

After searching this forum for a few hours, I came up with 13 different firing orders for all different sorts of combinations between six bolt bottom ends, 7 bolt heads, 2g and 1g CAS, different Ecu's and Coil Packs.

So I have ONE simple question, Given these following circumstands, What plug on the coil pack goes to what spark plug on the head

95 Eprom ECU
2G Coil Pack
1G 6 Bolt Block and Head
1G CAS

Please use this format when answering.

For example:

COIL PACK Left --> [ 4 1 2 3 ] <----Right

Corresponds to.... Head [ 4 1 3 2 ] <-- Cam Gears
(please do not use the cylinder numbers , i just want a number or a symbol from left to right and make it correspond with that on the head)

If you don't know for sure, then please do not post, If i have to see another firing order that doesn't even make logical sense im going to cry.

I have the same set up in my 95 tsi excluding dsm link. I used the oringinal firing order from the 6 bolt motor. Make sure the cas is inverted. I didnt cange the injector order either. Are you sure the cas is'nt 180 out?

My issue with my motor with the start and stall was due to the airflow meter wires to the ecu not being wired right after the gut I bought it from not hooking them back up.

But back to the point I used firing order = engine 4321 =coil 4123. No problems.

OK, ### you should do is make sure your timing is right.
Next you use arange the wires in
4123
and the block cylinder order is
4321.

the order for the wires switches as follows.
4 with 2 and 1 with 3.
the new order is
2341.
and you're all done.
and all you need is to start'er up and good to go.

i know this is old, but i need help NOW ... i have 2 degrees of knock, i just put my dsmlink in today. i am not sure of the firing order or if that has anything to do with my issue. i have a fully stock 7 bolt at the moment and i just put in my 95 eprom ECU, what is the firing order for the 7 bolt on a 2g eprom????

its 2314 right now seems to run okay, adjusted timing a bit but still curious if thats right

If that is using the '99 cam sensor (assuming it is the '99 listed in your profile), yes, that is correct. You will note that it doesn't match the picture below perfectly (or the post above for that matter), but that's okay. These cars use what you may find referred to as a "waste-spark" ignition system, meaning coil 1 and 4 fire at the same time and coil 2 and 3 fire at the same time. 4123 (represented in the left hand picture)=4132=1423=1432 and 2314=2341=3214(represented in the right hand picture)=3241.

99 engine with 99 CAS running DSM link. All you should have to do is connect the plug wires as per the coil bracket (I.E. put them back to stock) and then get into link and check the box to invert the cam signal.

interesting i didnt know you could invert the cam signal, i saw you can invert the clutch cut but yeah, i got it all workin with what i posted, i understand it better now:thumb:

now i just gotta figure out how to get rid of my damn knock
