Toronto,
Okay moderator's can throw this in with the drivetrain stuff if they want but I'm specifically reffering to 2gnt tranny's.
Okay so here is my problem.
I've got a stage 2 action clutch, and back in june my throwout bearing (which seems to be half metal half plastic) melted and or got stuck on the metal sleeve that it grasps onto on the transmission. So I replaced the transmission because I had a spare one from my second motor. Well haven't really been driving my car around since my motor was being built and I blew my head gasket, until about mid septemeber when I got the motor in. Anyways about a week later and after close to 900miles of breaking it in, the exact same thing happens. Well now I've decided to replace the clutch anyways even though I was told it was fine. But I really just wanted something better. So I'm getting a new tranny, a STAGE 3+ SPec clutch, and I was wondering if there is a way to increase the strength of the throwout bearings in our trannies. or a better one I can buy that won't have this same heat problem?
Or if anyone has a built tranny and would like to tell me what they did to build it up that would be great as well.
