Dont upgrade later, do it right the first time, dont try and take shortcuts while trying to put together a turbo kit, why pay $100 now plus the time to take it out later and pay the additional amount to get the new pipes.

Crush bent 2 1/4''

Yeah, dude just ask em how much more for mandrel bent and "minmum of 2.5" piping" Your car is gonna be hot enough as it is running the turbo like that. And I believe with a more free flowing exhaust spool up times are reduced that way as well. I think the most expenisve part of the whole deal would be them using a 2.5" flex section.

You will regret the 2 1/4" choice later. I already regret the 2.5" exhaust amd down pipe I have. I was in vegas over the weekend and found a (legal) 3" high flow cat for $89. But all my piping is 2.5" anyways so it wouldn't do me any good.

With this setup does anyone think I can run a stock clutch.

Yes, Hahn ran the stock clutch on their 420a BEAST, for a long while before they had to upgrade it.
But you will want to look into saving for one, because eventually slipping will start to happen.

I'm already here chattering from my stage 2 clutch, and I just had it put in in late novemeber of 2004.

I think I burnt most of it one night trying to stay alive on one of these seattle hills.

Ok cool

The project is coming along good.

My old engine is out and the new engine is being ready preped. The SRT4 head gasket is on and the mechanic is tapping my my oil pan for the return line. Im still waiting on my exhaust manifold. Also my internal waste gate hole is too small so its going to the machine shop to get the hole bored out. Also we finally found and internal wastegage to attach with a 8lb spring :thumb: Now all I need is an actuator and to hook up the MBC. The next feet is the injectors and fuel pump. Then the hard part intercooler and piping. I need to find couplers locally for 2.5 inch piping all I can find is the ones for PVC pipe which don't come in half sizes. then I will need to take it to the exhaust shop and get the setup working. Then AFC tuning.

You can buy a set of intercooler couplers online at one of the vendors on this site.
Also I think the fuel part will be the hard part, if your running bigger injectors don't for get about the SFMU you'll need. That way you can set your idle pressure, and then worry about SAFC tuning at different rpms.
The intercooler part should be a lot easier than you think, espcially if you have em made. FYI, a lil tip on the piping, if you bend out the edges of each pipe a lil bit before attaching all the couplers, it will help ensure that none of the couplers blow off under heavy boost presssure.

In the vendor section?

Also do you know where to get a 5bolt ford t3 flange I could use to make my down pipe?

On my turbo exhaust the opening is 2.5 and the flange is 2.5....maybe he has kinda the same sizing so its hard to put a 3" dp when 3 inches will prolly go over on some of the bolts that attach the flange and the exhaust of the turbo. Has anyone tried starting 2.5 and then in the middle of the dp go with 3" all the way back? Kinda like does reducers that summit sells that goes 3" to 2.5

^^^^^^^^^^^thats what im doing, since i dont have enough room for a 3in DP to clear, ill be running 2.5 till just past the turbo then flaring out the 2.5 pipe to fit over the 3in piping all the way back. my engine bay is jam packed, trying to figure out where exactly my wastegate dump tube will be routed, ill figure it out though, exhaust will be on tommorrow hopefully along with the IC piping, then crank it up early next week. Peace.

Well good news and bad news.

Good news Im getting U bends from NAPA so Ill be using Mandrel bent piping. Bad news the 360 and 450 cc injectors from the 4g63 I have dont fit. So any ideas where I can get injectors?

Good news I just picked up a set of Blacktop 450's and a 12:1 FMU for $100 w00t!!! :D

Also since I have a 99' I have to get a return line for the fuel rail because 95-96 have one so now I get to run a fuel line :notgood:

Ill try to get some pics of progress for you guys.

WTF :toobad: :nono: please re-read my first post and the post right above it

No FMU or no return feul line?

you cant use a 12:1 fmu with those big injectors. you either need to recalibrate the fmu or get a sfmu. i would suggest getting the sfmu so you can adjust idle pressure.

Ok next update. BTW thanks everyone for the help :thumb: I really appreciate this this is the first car I have boosted.

Ok I just recieved my blacktop 450's and my resistor pack. So now I need to find a return line froma 95-96. I also orderd 4 Ubends 2.5 mandrel bent from dsmotorsports.com which should be enough for my front mount. I also orderd my 5 bolt T3 flange for the DP aswell for cheap. Next step to install the injectors, fuel pump, resistor pack, AFC, etc and get it running N/A because I dont have a car. Then while im waiting for the boost contoller I can mock my IC piping and install the FMIC. Once thats all welded up I need to put my modifed oil pan on and hook it up to the turbo aswell as the feed which Im going to have to figure out as well. Also a question for those who used the 1g BOV i can just cut it off the 2'' piping and weld it into the charge pipe that goes to the intake. Then I can hook up the boost controller and tune everthing. And be running finally :sneaky:
