Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a non-running 1996 Eclipse RS. The mechanic told the previous owner that the engine was blown and would need a rebuild. Rebuilds are costly and I would rather find a good used 420a to swap in. The trader is not much help in finding 420a stuff so I was wondering if any of you knew of any site with 420a stuff. The point of this search is to find a new bottom end at least. If it is a complete motor, that is fine too.

What are the going rates for 420a engines?

I know that sebrings, avengers, and eclipses came with these motors. While searching I also found out that some neons have them as well, but with the intake and exhaust switched around. Is it possible to just use the bottom end with my head from the blown motor? Or is the bottom end different as well?

TIA.

If you're in Chicago, you might drop a line to Mike or Chris at Exile Racing Technologies up there. They have a website you can score in Google. It's a mainly 3G/Avenger vendor, but they have a couple of the best 2GNT guys in the area working for them and they might be able to point you in the right direction a bit better than randoms on a national forum here.

I will go so far as to personally vouch for them. They will shoot you straight.

And what's up with the 420a? Selling the 4g63 and buying a non turbo? Way to go man. :thumb:
