So, I have a 98/99 ECU arriving for my car, an I don't understand what will I need to do for it to work. I have a 96' style CAS, and it is inverted as far as I know.

I read around 50 threads and I'm still confused.

RRE's Eclipse 2g Turbo to 1g Head Swap Tips says something about swapping plugs and that's it, but some people say I need to do something else as well.

Since I'm doing opposite swap to 2Gb->DSMLINK, I can't have a software 'invert cas' option.

Can anyone explain me all of this please?

Your going to use the 97+ firing order on the plug wires that an I think you got to run a CAS thats for the 97+ too. With you getting that ECU is a waste anyway unless you got it for free. The iead is to get a 95 eprom ecu so you can get dsmlink or chip it.

Well it's not really a waste since I got a Japanese ECU that I cannot log with anything, and then I have an Evoscan software which is waiting for really fast ECU like 98/99 to speak to. I am even afraid to connect my MBC because I don't know how much the ECU retards the timings.

Anyway, do you know how many wires CAS has? If it's inverted it should suffice to swap just two of them, isn't that so?

Or, if only the plug firing order is changed then changing plugs should suffice?

Darn, I can't find any information at all :(

I have a 95 Tsi with a 97 ECU. I just swapped the plugs and it started up. It sometimes hesitates on start up but I don't know if that's related to the ECU swap. I never did anything with the CAS.
