Well after doin it the hard way, i was just curious as to the right way of removing 2g headlights mainly the bottom bolt of the housing. i jamed a socket with extensions on in beyween the bumber and headlight then pryed jus wandering the better way of going about it. i was removing the headlight housing in order to get the bumber off.

Thats what i tried but how do you get the bumber off with the 2plastic screw clips that are located on either side under the lights that hold the bumper on?

I thought about it, but was worried that they wouldnt stay in the right spot and would just look off after reinstaling it.

Don't guess I know which ones you are talking about. I take the two off each side above the marker lights, Then the four in the middle and that's it.

You shouldn't have an issue with the bumper not fitting right if you cut the tabs. As stiff as the bumpers are, they'll be fine as long as the bumper and lights are installed the right way. I've never had fitment issues after cutting. You'll be good.

With the bumper on, those bottom bolts are a b@#ch. Can be done if you contort your arm enough. Better to just take the bumper off.

If you're not the first owner of your DSM, then someone else had to have cut those tabs. My current spyder surprisingly still had the tabs so I cut them off.

I guess that makes sense. Good thing the previous owner took care of that for me.

Op- I have never had those tabs and have never had any issues with fitment or anything. Go with what spyderdrifter said and remove them. You will be fine.

Alright thanks guys guess you just gotta fight with them the first time. thanks again for the info guys

Yea tho i was the first one to have the bumper off and it was quite a struggle gett to either them tabs or the bottom bolts.

Go with that process and you'll never have to deal with those tabs, just the entire front brace. I'd rather cut the tabs and leave all the braces and supports alone.

(But my front support has been removed anyway...)

Im not gonna lie, that process I posted works, but it takes a little time. There are 4 bolts that connect the bumper to the frame that kicked my@ss. I managed to get a small cheater bar onto my ratchet to get them off.
