Well,
i want a 13.0 daily driver as my highest goal or mid 13's all day both on pump gas, no slicks, no ultra high-performance 180 thread tires, i'll be running 280 theadwear tires A traction, no taking seats out. racing gas etc. I really want a good street car mainly that can take on low 13' cars( almost all my buddies run that and most car's around town)

Is it possible to do this with a regular/big/evo III 16g? Wich one? how many psi?

I really, really need a good honest and realistic opinion/explanation, because i don't want to be left unsatisfied with my upgrade and waste my money.

Mods i'll have with the 16g:
S-AFC
190lph or 255lph
550's
All gauges
ACT 2100
2.5" o2 housing
2.5" downpipe till flex section then 3" all the way back
UICP w/ 1g BOV
Stock SMIC possibly FMIC

What am i missing to reach this goal? other than good driving i know

Is it possible without extreme tuning, maxing out the hell out of the car? Cause i'd then rather just jump to a T3/T4 hybrid since this will probably get me there easier slightly tuned and even @ 15-18 psi even tough i am not using it's full potential i will be most pleased to run 13.0

Thanks for your time, no bashing, no use search comments etc.

I want your personal opinion meaning you are a FWD 2g GST running a 16g and can't or are running low 13's without any extremes, or where a 16g user and couldn't reach the above mentioned and upgraded.

Thanks!!!!!

I haven't gotten my car completely soted out yet, so I can't answer all your questions. If you are looking at any sort of normal Mitsu 16g, the Evo3 is a better choice then both the regular and Big 16g.

On the wrong plugs and 19psi with the stock sidemount, my car put down 246 hp and 266 torque. Outside in ambient air and with "7's" plugs and a frount mount, 300 should be no problem.

with a fwd, your main concern for running the time you want isnt what turbo you buy, its traction. im running a small 16g, w/550s and a 2g mas on my awd, and my car is easily capible of low 12s if i really launched it, i havent launched for real yet for fear of breaking my 3 bolt rear.

but on a fwd, you cant just drop the clutch at 4500 off the line like we awd guys can, at least not wth a stock front differential. my buddy put a LSD front diff in his 2g fwd, and it made his launch at least twice as fast, he launches at nearly 4000 now.

as for the mods to run that time, a 16g, 255 pump, and a 2.5" exhaust will be enough to run it if you can make a good enough 60 fooot time. but you will need a FMIC, and i would recomend getting 660 or 680cc injectors, becasue it is possible to max out 550s on a 16g if you run enough boost.

and although i havent driven a 16g fwd, a buddy of mine had a 20g on his 2g fwd and hit well over 350whp on pump gas and ran 12s with that turbo. a 16g is 1 step below a 20g, so it would seem to be just what your looking for.

but i would strongly recomend you get these 2 things, in this order. first, solid urathane motor mounts, to get rid of your wheel hop(my buddy blew a 6 inch hole in the back of his fwd trans due to wheel hop when launching, the mounts get rid of the hop). and secondly, an LSD front diff in your trans. this isnt by any means cheap, and you have to take apart your trans to install it, but it is worth it for a fwd. you, just like most others, probally wolnt buy one till you blow your first stock front diff, and it takes the trany with it. but when you do, just remember that an LSD is the answer. and will save you alot of time and money in the long run then buying that used fwd tranny for nearly 1000 will.

It's really hard to get a decent et out of a fwd car. If your goal is merley to give your friends a good run on the street then as 16g variant will do nicely. You will need a fmic, but a 2g with a 16g fuel and fmic will generally put down 280s fwhp on pump gas. That will do nicley when running from a roll. A fwd will typically run a second slower than a comparitively modded awd on street tires. A 16g with fuel will probably put a fwd in the high 13s on pump/street tires but it will run with much faster cars from a roll. On pump gas I think my car would run low 13s and that's with a pte 50 trim, big fmic and hks cams. From a roll I have no problem walking mid 12 sec cars. (20 psi-17deg timing).

Well i mean i don't go the track that often but most of my time is on the street( not crazy), moderate racing

Seems kinda hard to really get even high 13's with a 16g on a 2g GST and there are all motor cars here running that with ease without LSD and whatnot, oh well i'll just get the most out of it with my 14b and then decide.

Thanks!

What you are looking for, the 16g will not give it to you. Maybe once every blue moon when all the stars line up will you ever hit a low 13 on a 16g, pump gas, street tires, full weight, etc. on a GST. However, tuning will play a vital role. W/ my 16g on pump gas, full weight, yada..yada... I ran a best of 13.9. I can probably take off a couple of tenths at the most w/ a fmic and some better driving. This was also on a sticky track. But I can't see the car hitting below a 13.5 w/ out race gas or drag radials. The power is there but the traction isn't. But from a second gear roll on the street, the car is just nasty! My firends in their all motor and nitrous setups can beat up on me from a dead stop in the 1/4. They trap mid 13s at only 100mph or so, I trap at about 105-108mph, so you can see that anything from a roll or longer than a 1/4 on the street my friends will get murdered by the GST.

Check out my mods and my SPYDER (Heavier) is a 13 sec daily driven car. I actually drive my car 100 miles round trip to work 3 times per week. It shouldn't be that hard. BTW You better run a FMIC or you'll run into problems with Knock from heat soaking the stock intercooler.

The spyder is less than 100 lbs heavier than a regular fwd 2g. I alos thoght I would be much more but it's not. I think a low 13 on pump gas, street tires will be tough. Race gas, sure. A buddy of mine has an evo 3 on his 2g and has run a best of 14.0. That was on race gas on stock injectors. If you just want to run with your buddies on the street a 16g will go just fine as it will most likely pull them pretty well.
