2G downpipe on 1G. Will it work?

Well I need a new downpipe, because mine is leaking badly from being cracked because of bad motor mounts. I searched, but didn't find any conclusive. If I'm just running an open downpipe will a 2g 3" fwd or awd downpipe or 1G 3" awd downpipe fit on my 1g fwd. I have a 2g O2 housing, so I don't see why it wouldn't work. Or are the hangers not in the correct location?

I don't believe so, the downpipes are routed different. So the bends and hangers are nowhere close.

they are almost identical (awd) except the end of the downpipe is angled one way, as opposed to a 1g being straight. It would work if you made your own custom catback i suppose.
