Well, we are heading out this morning over to Louisiana for Round #4 of the Grand Bayou Race Series. Have a practice day in the morning staring at 8:00 am till around 3:00 - 4:00. Then Round #4 starts at 9:00 am Sunday morning. Got all the fluids changed out last night, tires rotated (found one that may need replacing) I'll keep an eye on it throughout the weekend’s events. Made sure everything was in good working order before we get there. Looks like some of my couplers on my piping are starting to look a little raggid. Going to have to replace those after this weekend. Other than that, the car is good to go. Hopefully we can get another podium finish if not my first feature win of the season !!!

Good luck!

I will be down near Pensacola FL from the 18th-25th, do you have an event during that time. I'd like to come watch ya.

Thanks man. Sorry though Andy. All my events for this series are the 1st weekend of every month. And they are 4 hours away from Pensacola. Were and when are you going to be around my way? Maybe we can link up and hang out while you are around. Always good to put a face with a DSMer on here you know. :)

I will be staying at a condo not too far from Pensacola FL from the 18th-25th. Have nothing really planned, just going down there to get away and relax. You'll have to let me know when your free or something and we can meet up.

Yeah man, sounds like a plan. I'll PM you my mobile number and E-Mail and we can get up when it gets closer to you coming down. Florida is a GREAT place to relax and get away. Even when you live here :D

p.s. - How bout them VOLS !!!! 21-17 !!!!

Sorry guys, been busy as hell. Should be back on the forum in a couple of weeks

uh oh LOL

So, did you win yet??? I'm stuck at work today up in the cold state of wisconsin, and your down in nice warm(er) weather racing.

Yea yea, the Vols got lucky!ROFL Penn State came out with the win too, its so much better in person though.

I'm having trouble right now deciding what lapping days to go to, and what autocross club to join, location and timing is all key.

Question for Tyson: Could you(when you have time of course), take pictures of your rear subframe? I haven't seen any pictures of any 1g race car, and am wondering what to do with the active-toe feature, as well as my rear toe bolt freezing.

Well not exactly winning. I was in the lead for 18 minutes of the 20 minute feature race then had an issue. When I get everything sorted from the weekend I will be posting a blog about the event. Good and bad things.

Better lucky with a win then good with a loss I guess :D. And yes it is WAAAAY better in person.

Autocross club? You are just going to join a sanctioning body and go to the nearest to you yeah? SCCA, NASA etc.

Couldnt agree more Andy. They always hit the spot on race day.

Again, I am sorry about not being around. A Family Member Recently died and now the whole family is fighting over the contents of his will. It has been stressful for me, as I am the one playing peace keeper.:notgood: I have never wanted to get some seat time so bad in my life. Just to help me forget about everything right now. That aside I will be back around the forums more next week. Along with some new pictures of some projects I'm working on. I started installing the new gauges in the race car and they look great!

Sorry to hear that Tyson. It must stink trying to play peacekeeper in a situation like that man. Just keep working on the car for a release. Post some new pics when you get a chance. Good luck.

Tyson, I just got a 91 talon Tsi and don't know much about them, but I live 10 miles from the Hastings track. If that event does run, let me know if I can be of any help to you. this would apply to anyone on the forum who runs at the Hastings track. and hang in there with the family situation, that can be tough, but someone's got to see straight when it seems no one else is.

Well I was getting close to the cords on my Avon Tech R-A tires and went to order some new ones today to finish out the season and begin next season on. I have gotten so much use out of these tires I had to get another set of them. For the price, I was not going to beat them. Went onto Tire Rack and they had 1 tire left. The guy on the phone said when I called to double check, they had orderd some new ones....but that was in July of last year and they still have not come in yet. Nice. So I am trying to find a tire that is within that same price range, not so lucky there. I did however find some that were only $40 more a tire, those are the Hankook Ventus Z214 C50 Compounds.

So we will see how they perform coming up in 2 weeks from now. Did not want to spend that much more on tires, but that is really all could find for the price range I was looking for. If anyone is looking for some good race tires, try Bimmer World. They gave me a lot of help here today on getting these tires. Basically I hope I can try and run the same tire pressures I ran in the Avons so I dont have to spend all my practice sessions trying to find a good tire pressure to run in them. At least I have a good starting point if that does become the case.

I have talked to guys that run the RA-1's and like them very much. I lvoed my Avons but it looks as though they may not be making them anymore. Wish I would have bought a few more sets instead of just 2 when I did.

The Hankooks I bought are actually the spec tire for the USTCC (United States Touring Car Championship). So if it is good enough for them and their guys, I figure it will be fine for me :D And all athe morning I have been doing some research on them and other tires. Basically on what I read, they are the best and what I need for the money I have to sepnd on them.

I will be looking for some new race rubber in a few months. you'll have to let me know how you like them on the AWD.

Will do Andy. But I have a FWD not AWD :D Still will let you know how they work out after the 1st event on them.

Well we have about 2 more weeks until Round #5 of the series. Getting some work done on the car now. New couplers w/T-Bolts, Leak Down Test, Boost Leak Test, Cylinder Compression Test. Basically seeing what all will need to be done after the season. Going to be totally redoing the motor and looking to step it up to around 250 WHP by next season. We will see though. Going by the shop later today and hopefully snap a few pics and post them up here for you guys to see. :)
