2 g dash mount gauge pod depth question

Just wondering because i want to mount both my prosport gauges in thks piece? The old pressure gauge is longer than the other gauges though for some reason. Did anyone get the ebay gauge pod? The reason i ask is because the prices range from $25 on ebay to $100

the largest gauge I have that would go there is approximately 2 1/4" - 2 1/2" long. Can someone measure theirs to see if that would fit? I can't cut mine as it is a digital gauge.

I would appreciate it, if you can measure from the stock gauge clutster front to the front of the aftermarket cluster. I want to see how much room is there before the gauge hits the stock cluster shield.

Ok here you go.

when I removed the dash mount to get the mounting bracket off, I left the gauge their hanging then put the mount on to help with visual. But at the far right their is 2 inches. It doesn't look like the gauge sits right their, it's about 1/8 of an inch left. My glowshift boost gauge is 2.75 little under 3 inches and the mounting bracket just barely hits the clear plastic cover behind. Anywhere else behind the hole their is more then enough room. So I hope this gives you a good idea. :thumb:

Ps. The bottom snaps in and you can leave it out to give a little more room, can't even tell at all if you choose to do this.

if your boost gauge is 2.75" is that from the face of the gauge to the mounting bolt or whatever stick out the furthest? And if so, I assume the mounting bolt is close to the far right where there is only 2" of clearance

also do your gauges push in all the way or are they hanging out a little. It's hard to tell from the pic with it mounted in. Thanks so much for your help

I push them in all the way. I had to rotate the boost gauge ever so slightly so it wasn't at the far right. And yea it's from the face to the furthest point witch is a stud out of the back of gauge. The stud is about 1/8" in from edge. So I would assume close to 2.5" of clearance then I turned ever so slightly and it's good.

If your gauge is longer, the bottom of the dash mount can be left un snapped and will give you a little more room about 1/4". This is unnoticeable when looking at it like this. I was able to snap mine in. This will make more sense when you pull out the old one, if you don't know what I mean.

So I should be able to fit my gauge that is 2 1/4 but it may not be able to go all the way back or I may have to leave the bottom unsnapped like you said. That actually answered another question I had about whether the new gauge pods come with thos two tabs at the bottom or not. Worse comes to worse, I will pick up a extra speedometer plastic cover and cut out a small section to allow the gauge to go all the way back. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this for me. I really appreciate it.

well I ordered my gauge dash surround from ebay from glow shift. I am a little dissapointed as instead of having the mouting tabs to help secure the bottom part of the surround, there is nothing but holes there. Not sure why the holes are there as there is no way to screw it in. Kinda sucks as when I got the car, the top right screw clip that holds the top right of the stock gauge bezel in place is missing as well as a chuck of the dash board which the clip attaches too. So basically the only thing that holds my new gauge cluster bezel in is one top left screw. Went back and looked at the pictures on the ebay store and it shows the holes being there so I don't think it was a manufacturing defect. I need to find a way to mount it a little better. It stays the way it is but it could be better
