2.4 cranking compression ?

Hey guys i just got a 98 gsx with a 4g64 2.4 and i have no clue how the motior was built but u just done a cranking compression test and it has 200-210 psi with stock cams and gears ! what is the estimated ratio with that much cranking compression !

Sounds about right. I had mine at 210-220 on a fresh rebuild. I hope it has aftermarket pistons, because the stock 2.4 pistons a little soft for boost

well it is supposed to have good pistons but who knows. so what compression ratio is your engine to have 210-220psi. It will have good injectors and alcohol kit soon so i will tune it pretty safe.

i have 9.3 wisecos and 43cc hyundai head. i expected it to be higher. usually its around 200.

Larger cams will decrease cranking compression. My 10:1 2.4 with the GSC-S2-R cams has 185psi cranking compression.

Also, my 406ci 11:1 SBC with a decent solid roller has the same cranking compression.

With stock cams what you are seeing may be typical for a 4g64.
