2-3 shift slipping

I just replaced my torque converter (re-stalled IPT) with the new smaller higher stall sinister converter. I had the car apart because I had a block trans separation problem and snapped all my converter bolts and I figured while I had it apart to try this higher stall converter.

I say all that to say this. I am now having a slight slippage in the 1-2 shift and very noticeable slip in the 2-3 shift. This is only at WOT. I think my pump could be hurt possibly and not making enough pressure to slam the shifts as hard as it used to.

My question is what should the pump pressure be at at idle and at WOT. I am going to read it from the bottom diagnostic port.

If I find that the pressure output is normal what are the other causes of 2-3 slow engagement.

Here is a link log showing the 2-3 shift in an 1/8 pull. Ignore the crappy 60ft.

I can't tell you what the normal specs for fluid pressure are but I can point you in the right direction by sending you to this manual.

Also one way to check if the problem is fluid pressure is to do the blue wire mod. Search the forums for how to do it, but the mod simply disables the pressure control solenoid for full line pressure shifts. If your shifts are much nicer that way then you might want to look elsewhere such as your valve body. I prefer to wire the blue wire mod as a switch to have stock shifting as an option as well for comfort at low speeds and light throttle.

Yea I have always shifted it at full line pressure. I have an old school TCUgo. But I was lucky enough to grab the full 7 gauge pressure port setup from the dealer. I got base presure readings for every synerio on the presure chart. everything seems normal save for the kickdown apply and release pressures. I think I may have a stuck valve. Could still be a hurt pump to though. I will report back what I find after I open up the trans.

Ever figure it out. My trans just started doing the same thing. And now its starting to do it on the 3-4 shift a lil bit. But when I switch over to the eprom ECU it wont do it any more, only when its flipped to the stock TCU :hmm:
