1st gen flip up headlight mod

Ok, so I don't like flip up headlights. With that said, I want to remove the whole mechanical headlight...the motor and all. And to fill it's place I want to put a set of fog lights in behind the lens. So now it would look like I have a normal set of NON-flip up headlights. Now here is my question. I went to Wal-Mart and looked at some of thier fog lights...they are all ricey blue but, thats ok. Is thier a certain wattage i need to get for them to be bright enough to replace my stock headlights? The ones there said 12 volts 55 watts. Is that good or does it need to be higher? If you have any suggestions on what to do or an answer to my question please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Search on LS1tech.com for the fixed headlights. they are similar to the new Corvette headlights. They could be very expensive but maybe if you have some fabriating skills you could fab something up. Good luck.

i had the same idea. i am glad someone is willing to try it before me. i am sure the foglights would be as bright as headlights, my main concern would be how clear is that lense. this is what i would worry about.
