im wondering if the 1g's (maybe a 92 talon tsi awd) came with a stock cd player or changer. any info?

My '93 had one, tape deck and radio on top, CD player on bottom. The CD player sucked tho, so I took it out and put in an old Excelon I had.

mine was a cd player .. with an eq on the bottom !

pretty nice actually for 14 years old..

My 92 TSi AWD actualy mfg 7/1991 was some what similar to the one pictured above.

Single din Am/Fm/Cassette and a single din cd below it.

I would be still using it if the cd player worked well....unforunately it skipped, took a long time to load, took a long time when switching tracks. It wasn't fun. So, I swapped in an aftermarket cd player.

My 1992 GSX came with the CD/Cassette player. According to my window sticker it was a $725 option OMG The player is long gone now though. I have the Pioneer AVIC-N1 in it's place. In car navigation is sweet :thumb:

dont most 1g' people that want stock looks just get a 2g factory radio ?

some of the 1g stock cd player/stereo sytem things are the same as the 2g's. my 93 tsi has the same as my gf's 95 tsi, only difference is one has the cd player on top, the other on bottom

Here's an interesting fact: The 1G audio system was made by Alpine.

my radio is a cassette/radio on top with a "cd" button but there is no changer... it also has what looks like a headphone jack that is used for input and the cd button activates this input.... then on the bottom there is like an 8 way equilizer... that eq is sooo nice..

yes i really want a stock look to the inside...but thats the next thing i was wondering... can i put a 2g factory radio/cd player in my 92.... is there a harness or something involved? or is it a direct plug-in

My '93 has that. There's one version that has an input for a CD changer on the rear, and one that only has the CD or AUX input on the face. Good place to stick an MP3 player's wire.

Get the 2G radio-to-car adapter, and the 1G car-to-radio adapter and connect them. eBay.

Good thinking. i'll do that.

Well, apperently alpine made the car audio eqiptment for our 1gz......

Im running about 60 watts rms to all my stock speakers via an aftermarket amp.

the stock speakers sound pretty loud and clean, and handle those watts pretty well.

too bad i dropped in a eclipse 55090 receiver in there and 2 amps and a sub....

but hey, now i can listen to cdz

This came stock in my 91 GSX. The pics a little fuzyy but you can see the CD/TAPE/RADIO/EQUILIZER combo. Its starting to not work anymore though. I want to keep the stock look inside.
