It is a 94 mitsu eclipse gsx. Mods include aluminum radiator, tubular manifold, and 255 walbro. It has a hundai head, everything else is stock. It also has a blitz turbo timer but i highly doubt that is causing the problem. The problem is its losing power after it warms up. Here is the twist that is bothering me. Once it has warmed up there is a sudden drop in tempature and a loss of power. Loss of power as in, it acts like its bogging down and flooding almost. It has great compression(155 all across) and it runs great while warming up. We replaced the temature sensor, cold start sensor and adjusted the CAS. Keep in mind it does have extremely minor shaft play, and a good chance of bad turbo seals. Im tempted to say the thermastat is bad but it opens and closes perfectly fine. any ideas?:|

This would almost need an in person look-see or a log file from some type of logging. Initially it sounds like maybe your MAF temp sensor is bad, but it could also be knocking a lot and the ECU is pulling mass amounts of timing. But with out more details itll be really hard to point out where to start. Have you checked the ECU caps?

:hmm:I had this same problemnot the drop in temp but the bogging) i thought it was my ecu as well, but i had it checked, socketed and got dsm link. The problem was a Boost leak in one of my injector seals. Save some time and money and do a quick boost leak test. i use soap and water around areas that usally leaks helps find it faster. hope this helps. for the loss of power part anywho.

To reply to the first post its not knocking or kicking the knock sensor cause that would spit a code. Also on top of that I would hear the knick if it was bad. I do know the turbo seals are going bad and I do know I have a bad thermostat. My question I guess would be now is if it is a bad computer why is it running good while warned up but suddenly loading power. I replaced the thermostat so the drop in temperature is not cause the power los but it is losing power randomly and does not want to get into boost randomly.

Did you test compression after it was warmed up or after you drove it and got into boost? Could have a HG leak but only under boost/warm conditions. Just a thought.

yes compression was checked at col, warm and running condition. minor differences. im going to completly replace the thermastat tommorrow and go from there. any ideas aftewr that would be helpfulll
