OK, time for an odd question. I am in the (very long process) of taking my 94 Talon down to the bare shell before I rebuild it. My original plan was to make the car as light as possible, but to also weld in a bad-ass cage. Then the other day I got to thinkin': What would I need that for? I want to drag it and maybe autocross if I find time, but would it be necessary to have more than a 4pt rollbar? Would a harness bar be enough? If any of you racers out there could give me a little heads-up on what kind of races would require certain bars/cages, I'd appreciate it. I know most are based on times, but any feedback would be helpful.

if you want to have use harnesses, having at least something to hook it too instead of rigging it into the car would be nice. You don't need a full cage or anything unless you really want it. As for me, I don't REALLY need one either for my 93 tsi awd, but I bought an 8 point for 300 bucks and welding it in now. If nothing else, it will atleast help in a roll over and it will stiffen up the car alot. I dont plan on any huge racing events, just once in awhile take it to auto-x events.
