I installed the new CAS on the car, I get spark and I think it gets some gas but not enough to turn over. Is there anything else I had to do to get this to run? I read magnus's tutorial but it didn't state what to do for a 2g engine.

I've seen that, but it doesn't specify if I need to change the injectors and/or the plug wires. It just says if neccessary.

when you say CAS are you talking about Cam or Crank sensor? I hope you're talking about crank because per your profile you have a 95 gsx and your cam and crank sensor are all in one on the crank. But when reading your post it sounds like you've got a Cam angle sensor on your head??? I'm a little confused sorry.... WTF

all 2g's have a Cam and a crank sensor. You can swap out a 1g cam sensor, and rig the harness up to send signals to both the cam and the crank plugs.

Same as if you were doing a 6-bolt swap.

I realise that. Was your car not running correctly for you to undertake this task or what?
when you have the 1g CAS out, turn it with the key on and listen to see if the injectors fire. If they do then you're not getting spark.

My crank sensor went bad (the magnet fell out). I had a friend who sold me this 1g cas, and I had the plugs to wire it in. I already checked for spark. The turns over and will sound like it wants to start, (it'll give the occassional pop or 2) but just does this over and over.

Are you sure that you wired the 1g CAS correctly???

did you correctly tap the stock Cam Angle Sensor and the Crank Angle Sensor?? Which 1g CAS did you use??? Are you using the green with the harness attached, green with the plug, or the black one with the plug??

Also why didnt you just replace your stock Crank Angle Sensor with a new one instead of cutting up your stock harness to put in a 1g CAS unless you plan on doing a 6 bolt swap in the future??

Yep wired up correctly. I had old extra plugs laying around so I didn't have to cut my stock harness. And I got this sensor for $20, and I am planning on doing a 6-bolt in the future. Green CAS with harness attached.

I hope you have dsmlink or patience otherwise random misfire will own you. Try another cas if you are positive that the wiring is correct. Also, make sure the cas is adjusted towards the middle and not totally advanced or retarded.

Since you own a 96 yourself, you should already know that your statement is false. All 2g's have both a cps and cas. The cps is located under the timing cover at the crank on all 2g's. The cas is located on the head behind the intake cam gear on the 95-96 and is located on the passenger side of the head, similar to the 1g, on 97-99. The only dsm's that had an all in one cas was the 1g.
