I searched but couldn't find a definitive answer. I destroyed the 7-bolt in my 2g. I got a 1g 7-bolt for cheap.

What should I keep in mind when installing the 1g 7-bolt. I have all the provisions for the 1g head because my car had a 1g head swap done to it. However I'm confused about the oil filter housing location.

There are electrical connections in that area that go to the alternator and oil pressure sending unit, mine got all hacked up and I dont know where they go especially with the 1g sending unit.

Any help would be greatly appreciatted. :dsm:

You should be able to follow the same process as a 6 bolt swap, including the CAS rewire, 2g motor mount and all that fun stuff. Someone correct me if Im wrong!

^ Yep, putting a 1g 7-bolt in a 2g is the same process as the 6-bolt write-ups.

Your alternator wiring is 2g specific, so you need to use it or source a new pigtail if yours is destroyed.

i did the same swap just listen to the 2 above and follow the 6bolt swap process. Good thing about the 1g 7bolt is the high compression and the less chance of crank walk almost as reliable as the 6bolt but more stock power.

Anybody know where to find a good diagram that shows these connections? Mainly the ones that go to the sending unit/ oil pump area?

I thought you didn't have to re-wire the cam angle sensor, since the 1G 7-bolt has a provision for the crank angle sensor.

Exactly, all 7 bolts have the crank sensor mount. We put Tort's old stock 1G 7 bolt in a friend's 2G auto, made things ALOT easier between the crank sensor and being able to re-use the 2G flexplate/converter. If you already have a 1G head on the car, you should literally be able to just replace one block with the other (make sure you transfer the 2G mount, alternator, and stuff over).

Anybody have pictures of the crank sensor? I'm not exactly sure which sensor you guys are talking about.

I have a 1g 7 bolt and I have some questions. Basically the 1g bolt motor has the stock 13b turbo on it and everything and I have my 2g 7 bolt motor with the stock t-25 turbo on it. Can I transfer my 2g 7bolt turbo, intake manifold and like exhaust manifold to the 1g 7bolt? Is there any pro in doing that? Also what exactly needs to be done to put the 1g 7 bolt motor into my 2g? Is there anything I have to mod/change? Thanks
