Hi, sorry if this has been asked the search feature isnt working, but i have 96 gsx with a spun rod bearing and have found a block out of a 92 7 bolt laser turbo. Are all 7 bolt blocks the same? If not, is it possible to make this work?

Thanks!

For the most part they are the same. The 1g block is gonna have holes on the front and back because 1g motor mounts attach to the block instead of the transmission. No big deal. I believe they still use the same headstuds and everything. I am doing the same thing with my 98 TSi. Putting a 93 stroked 7 bolt in. I just ordered a bottom end gasket kit for the 93-94 and top end for my 1g head.

ok, i'm keeping my 2g head, but that doesn't matter right?? So is there anything else that is any different? I just want to know for sure before I buy it and find out that its gonna cost a ton to make it work!

thanks
