Alrighty ladies and gents, the build thread that absolutely nobody asked for but here it is...

Here's a four year recap
Before getting the car I was looking for an evo until I realized my part-time job at a grocery store wouldn't support that dream. So after a while and some savings my pops told me to look for an eclipse gsx since it is a "two door evo." (he had no clue what they were outside of being awd and turbocharged) So I said screw it and bought a bone-stock 1998 gst.

That was the day we picked it up from about 2 hours away. Of course, it broke on the way home. The cars last registration was about 2011 and I bought it in 2017 so it kicked around for a solid 6 years and had deteriorated a bit. So the turbo oil feed developed a pin hole and was leaking badly. Somehow we got lucky and made it all the way back before we noticed there was an issue. So there it was, no license and had a misfiring 2g that was losing oil quicker than I could put it in but I was the happiest camper. Since I just dropped my account to zero buying the car, my parents paid for the new oil lines and a tune up so that it would run. (still didn't have a license) Finally got a license and quickly got to driving it.IMG_0045.JPGIMG_2375.jpg
Was driving it around completely stock while saving some money for modifications and quickly scooped up a thermal R&D exhaust with a random downpipe off of ebay. Along with some evo 8 wheels and a freshly resprayed rear bumper since the last one was chipping.

Of course the stock ride height was totally unacceptable so I scooped up a set of tein coilovers and lowered the car. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of it lowered on the evo wheels but, shortly after the coil overs I bought a set of rep TE's and quickly ran out to shoot pictures.

The car stayed like that for a solid year since it was my daily driver. But, I was slowly stacking parts on the side. Picked up dsm link, a evo 3 16g and supporting mods. Eventually bought a daily so I stopped driving the car for a little bit and put it all together. Unfortunately I have no documentation while doing the upgrades but I have pictures after it was finished.

Drove it very little over the next year due to being busy with school but did buy a new set of wheels.IMG_0021.jpg
Finally made an appointment to get tuned in the summer. Made 285 hp and 303 tq on a mustang dyno and was super happy. Unfortunately, the car got hit right in front of my house while stopped and waiting to enter traffic. Fortunately the damage wasn't terrible but unfortunately the car that hit me had no insurance so the repair had to come out of pocket. Also my daily was fried so the dsm had to be the daily until I could buy another. Finally got another daily and sent the 2g to the body shop to be repaired. That was in the winter so the car was stored after it was finished. Over the winter I scored a set of evo brakes and bride seats along with a fresh set of tires and threw it together over the summer in my spare time.

After the summer was over I put the car away and haven't touched it since. And that sums up the last four years with the car. Decided to make a build thread so that I have a reason to take pictures and document things that are going on with the car.

There is just something about white DSMs. Looks simple, yet sexy, yet aggressive. Nice addition!
