Hello everyone!
I've decided to start my build journal as many of my new parts are coming in and I should be starting on the next chapter of my car. Some time in 2008 or 2009, I bought my first DSM - a 1993 Eagle Talon TSi in red. It was mostly stock, with the exception of a small 16g turbo and an aluminum radiator. Well, I didn't do my homework and bought a bit of a dud. It broke down on the way home and I've had a slew of problems since. I lost interest in the project after chasing this thing, admittedly likely in the wrong way.
About summer time of last year, I hit a bit of an impass. I either needed to get rid of the car and start fresh with a new project (likely a 2016 Focus RS) that I couldn't really afford or something else. I kept thinking about why I got into this car and DSMs as a whole, and it kept nagging me. Finally, I decided to go all in.
Goals-
Fun street car that can get close to, if not into the 10's with a good driver
Something that I can take to do some kind of track day
Fast-spooling HX40 setup for 400whp on 93 octane/500whp on E85
So, for your reading pleasure, here's the plans:
Performance stuff -
-Whalen built 6 bolt (just being finished up - see attached)
-Kiggly girdle
-Kiggly crank trigger
-Manley Turbo Tuff rods
-Wiesco 9:1 pistons
-Mildly ported 2g head
-Kelford 272s
-Kiggly HLA
-Gates Racing performance timing belt
-AEM adjustable cam gears
-Evo III intake manifold
-Forced Performance exhaust manifold
-Fluidampr
-JusMX141 (Justin) built 56mm billet wheel HX40 in a 55 BEP housing
-STM recirculated O2 housing with wastegate
-FIC 1100cc Hi-Z injectors
-VRSF front mount intercooler
-Wilwood brakes (thanks Ludachris for the deal!)
-Stainless brake lines
-17x9 Team Dynamics Pro 1.2 wheels (Thanks Luda again!)
-New Feal coilovers
-All new silicone coolant hoses
-Calan made catch can
-Torque Solution mounts - all the way around
-ACT 2600
-ECMLink V3 Lite (for now)
-Upgraded Walbro 255 with rewire
-Fuellab AFPR
-New bushings all the way around
-99gst_racer built 3-piece Chromoly crossmember
Cosmetic -
New window trim thanks to winning the window trim lottery (saw the ad early) from JNZ Tuning
Strip car paint to metal/fix some body stuff and primer, then Plasti-dip (wait til you see it though)
HID projector headlight conversion
And the parts go on and on! I should be starting on the project very soon. Wish me luck!
