14b internal wastegate, how far does it open

I did a search for multiple terms so sorry if theres a post on this somewhere. Anyways, I am putting a 4g63 into my truck and had to re-clock the turbo. Well I forgot to see how far the stock wastegate acuator opened up the stock internal wastegate in a 14b, and i already cut the actuator's rod so I can't go back and check. So can anyone tell me how far the stock wastegate opens with the stock actuator, all the way, 3/4, or what? Thanks for the help.

I'm pretty sure that it opens from 3/4 to fully open. The more it opens when needed, the more it allows the extra exhaust gas to bypass the turbine. As long as it opens to atleast 3/4 it should be fine.

thanks, I know the more it opens the better so I don't have the boost keep building. anyone else with a definite answer of how far it opens would be appreciated even more.

Believe it or not, the size of the hole itself has more of an effect on wastegate function than how far the flapper opens.

It should have about a 30 degree angle when it opens, or 3/8".

Opens about 3/8 as Justin said. Std you need to pull the actuator arm 1/2 a hole to get
the arm onto the pin. If you make the arm a full hole short for preload, it won't hurt it
