Every one wants to know whats the best 02 to use. and i say any brand name, Standard, Bosch, Denso. They are the same exact sensor. Buy a standard O2 and look at it it says Denso, buy a Bosch and guess what it says Denso again. Most companies do not make an O2 sensor for every car, so they out-source. Denso makes Mitsubishi O2s and maybe Standard makes Ford O2s. The only one I believe is different is the Walker brand.
Now, on to the universal and the non-universal (this is where the man gets you) there's no difference (as far as i can see). If you buy a non-universal O2, feel around the wire- I'll bet there's a bump somewhere. Peel the heat shielding off and look at what you have: wires crimped together from the factory. If you buy a universal O2 compare it to a non-universal one.. I'll bet they have the same numbers:thumb:. Look at the photos, they don't lie. That is a non-universal O2 but yet there're wire connectors on it. HHMMMM now I know some people will say I'm wrong but this is just what i found out.. heck I may be wrong but its interesting.

That's why I always go with the universal 2g 02 sensor from bosch. Cheap and it always works every time! :thumb:

Good research. :thumb: I wish I would have read this post by you 2 weeks ago. I hate going with anything non OEM so I bought a $125 Mitsubishi o2... It says Denso right on it. I could have got it for about $80 less.

got my denso plug and play front o2 from oxygensensors.com for $50 shipped. actually cheaper than sparkplugs.com or the other recommended site because shipping is included. absurd autozone/etc charges $100+ for these.

I was curious about the Walker o2 sensors though. I was thinking about getting it at first to save $5, but then it would be under $49 which didn't qualify for freeshipping. So another $5 which would make it the exact same price as the denso, so.. ROFL WTF

There is about a $10 difference from the universal to the plug and play. Probably worth it for me to just pay the extra unless someone needs a universal to wire up longer distance. Doing such a nice job connecting the wires ahd the heatwrap around it with the oem harness seems to justify the price difference.

If you are willing to spend $125 on a stock sensor, why not just spend $170-180 on an LC1 Wideband instead? You can hook it up to the ECU , tune the switchpoint for a possible MPG increase, and monitor/tune your AFR.

Back when I actually used a stock o2, I just got a Ford one from the junk yard. It worked great and when I installed my wideband it showed that the Ford one was working accurately and correctly. If your vehicle uses a normal o2 sensor and has 4 wires, there is nothing special about it -- just splice the wires and it will work fine if the sensor is good.

I already have an AEM Uego wideband installed. I just wanted to replace the narrowband front o2. I believe they also last longer.
