Please do not flame if my thought is way of but I logged my car, see below.

at 0 the time is 1.49 secs, at 59 it is 9.24 seconds.

Using simple math 9.24-1.49 = 7.75. How close to my real 0-60 time would this be? Stock RS 0-60 is what 9.3. Does this mean I shaved 1.55 seconds off my 0-60 time with my mods? Once again if I am way off do not ridicule. I also do not, have not, drag raced. Is dropping 1.55 from 0-60 significant or small potatos?

id say take it to the track and give her a few runs...thats where ull see if ur mods paid off...but if thats true then awesome

Yeah, I need to just for fun. This may sound lame but I am afraid of killing the engine or something stupid at the track. Anybody want to tell this track noobie what to expect the first time at the dragstrip? What safety crappola do I need, just a helmet at my HP and speed rating I imagine.

nope u dont need anything dude....i believe u need helmet and roll cage and harness when ur down there in the 10's 11's n 12's or lower..cant remember exactly.....but basically u just go out there ..sign ur name, theyll tell u where to go....wait in line....bring some shoe polish to write ur call number on the window (given to u)...theyll line u up...while ur lined up in the pits, thats usually a good time to take out ur air filter, lower your tire pressure and just chill and check out the other cars....theyll then line u up w/ another person...u go through a waterbox where the big dawgs spin there tires..(i go around it) ...next u go up to the first mark and turn the first yellow light on...then u slooowly creep up to the next line till u see the next yellow light come on.....there will be 3 consecutive yellow lights and then a green...try launching on the 3rd yellow and see what happens...that will be a good starting point....work on ur launching and just dont worry bout blowin ur engine....i usually shift before redline..if u do ull be fine...go balls to the wall and have fun...hope that helps u know what to expect

So I don't even need a helmet? On the 23rd a bunch of locals are goin to Ennis. I was thinking about going and checking it out in person first, asking questions then. Also, when you creep to the second light, I think it is the stage light, do you hold the brake (kinda heel toe it) while you get the RPMs up to launch speed, or can you sit there and not hold the brake while revving? Is there a safety rule or anything concerning this?

I hope no one is laughing while reading this. OMG

EDIT - and you go at the third yellow countdown light, not on the green?
EDIT 2 - Back on topic, do those logger stats make sense? It was not on a Dyno it was on the highway service road in the country, no traffic to get in the way.

So you do not go on green. I think I read that if you go when the third light comes on you will have a better reaction. If you wait till the green lights you are +1 sec already and .500 is a perfect launch?

Dammit, off topic again.

No you wont need a helmet at all....least there are no rules here...i dont see how u would need one anywhere for a 16 second car

yea what you do is u stop once u hit the first light....then just let out the clutch a tad (no gas) and creep just till u see the 2nd yellow light come on, then u hit the break and push in the clutch...now it is perfectly fine to let off the break and rev ..once ur stopped u wont move so u dont need the break...i rev to like 3500...hold the rev....(then the yellow tree lights will start to go) 1st yellow...keep holding....2nd yellow..keep holding...3rd yellow...as soon as this light comes on..i start to slip the clutch...once fully out u should pass the line as the green light comes on....there are many varients so experiment and try what works best for you

I would take a helmet just in case.

The best way to get used to the tree at your local drag strip is to just go and watch for a day. Whatch what everyone does before the runs, during, after, in the pits... just get the feel for the environment and watch to see what sort of etiquete people are using.

Your first time out don't expect anything special. Set a realistic goal. Make it something like dropping 3 tenths from your first run of the day, or getting a consistant 60-foot.

MOST OF ALL:

HAVE FUN!!!!!

Cool, I plan on going the first to watch. I hit a .515 on that game.

Now, since you are not commenting on my log, does that mean it is way off.

edit - .506 on the game.

im not sure about the log...it sounds a little off but i cant be sure...wat are stock 0-60 times for a gs-t?...maybe have someone time ya w/ a stop watch...

stock GS-t is 6.5 so the log may be crap. Now that I remember I was on a hill and there was quite a large tail wind, so maybe not so far off. I guess I need to try it on a very flat run with calm winds then compare.

Edit - Car and Driver got the stock 95 GS from 0-60 in 8.6 secs. So my time is not that far outside the realm of possibility. Pocketlogger is pretty cool either way, no more Autozone for CELs.
