14B dyno record

Who has made the most whp with a 14b?

My friend just dyno'd his car. It has a ported 14b, built motor, ported head, cams, front mount and nitrous. It has all the supporting mods too 880s, maf-t in blow through, 3'' exhaust, and a burnt eprom for injector compensation. He mad the most whp I have ever heard on a 14b. All runs on 110octane and whatever timing advance the stock ecu decided to give it(usually 18-22advance but we didnt bring a logger to the dyno).

Spiking 22psi and falling to 15psi he made 309whp/326tq

On spray he made 388whp/forget how much tq

Then he uncapped the cutout and made 412whp/370tq

Im trying to upload the vid right now but I will ###### have to wait till tomorrow.

He is going to edit it and hopefull make a clip with the highest boost run and highest spray run. He said that he can no longer get his camera to link with his puter and he may have to warranty it so it may take a while to get the vid

Well that sucks. I want to see the video as well. Have you considered loading his camera software on your computer and trying it? Let us know when guys get it uploaded.

Out of curiosity, to what "cutout" are you referring?

Hey you wouldn't be talking about Mike with the black GS-T would you? It sure sounds like it, especially when he called me and told me those same exact numbers. His dad stopped at my job just to tell me how they did. Mad props, his car is one of the nicest 1G I have seen around here. Hope he gets those syncros fixed before he takes it to the track. I really want to see how he's running the ¼ mile.

I laid down 266whp @ 10psi on 93 octane. Stock sidemount intercooler, stock fuel pump, stocks injectors, no AFC. It will be interesting to see what I can do on the 14b with a 255 HP pump, 750cc's, SAFC II and my SBR FMIC...

Bullshit. You realize that stock 1G's are rated at 195 CRANK HP at ~the same boost? I guess your car gained over 90WHP from the higher compression.

The 309WHP is very impressive. I think that's the highest I've heard of as well.

Bullshit, huh?

Here's the dyno sheet. read it and weap. And if you still don't believe I ran 10psi, given the number of witnesses from South Fla DSM that were at the dyno organized by members of the club, then I really don't give two sh!ts... though, had you looked at my mods list, you would have noticed the only difference isn't my pistons, asshat.

I COULDN'T run any higher boost than 10psi. When I ran 15psi on the street, I would hit fuel cut around 5200rpm. Lowered it to 10psi so I could take it as close to the rev limiter before running insanely lean... which I did anyway, and had to back off before redline.

He has a stock 6cm turbine housing that he ported.

I believe you Adam as this same car made 278 whp on 7psi with 27degrees of timing advance . I know it is possible to make power on low boost if you crank up the timing. He is now running a burnt eprom with injector compensation so he only gets 20-22degrees advance now. Also burnt eprom eliminates fuel cut

He was spraying 79whp which is about the same amount of power you would get from a 100 shot. I think the jetting was 44n/28f but Im not positive.

That's an awesome #. Now get that bish on the tracks and go for the 14b track record!

They're interchangeable?? I ran 16G's on my VR4 previously. I'm running 14B's now... I think a pair of 7cm housings would really help me a lot.

Very impressive numbers on a 14B.

I put down 488 AWHP / 483 AWTQ with a pair of 14B's spiking to 26 PSI and falling to 20 PSI (boost leak)... I ran an 11.8 @ 120.xx the next day.

I've not dyno'ed since then, but I've improved the 1/4 mile results slightly... 11.1 @ 125.70 MPH.

So I think I'm making a little over 500 AWHP. Again, really impressive numbers. Based on your numbers, it looks like I'm getting close to the limit of the 14B potential though

(Here's a pic just for shits & giggles)

14b and 16g turbine housings are interchangeable since they both use the TDO5H tubine wheel. So both housings are machined to the same dimensions. And they physicaly bolt up to the center section the same. I'm not sure what you mean by a pair of hosings though. The compressor housings will not be interchangeable since the 14b and 16g compressor wheels are different sizes.

He has a 3000gt...since this car is twin turboed he would need TWO 7 cm turbine housings.
