fixing to get a safc2 but im not shure as to where i should put it? where do you guys have yours? also how easy is it to install, will it mess anthing up with a turbo timer?

I had one under the aftermarket cd player i had in my 3g, i've seen people do the same with ## car. Aren't there kits for the vents for 2g's. It shouldn't have any effect on the turbo timer.

Yes, they do have kits for the vents. Personally I don't care for them. Have mine in the glove box but when I want to use it I have it velcroed to the dash right under the rear wiper switch, I will upload a picture tomorrow, it's black so it looks really good. Will not hurt a turbo timer. The SAFC is very easy to install just make sure you check and double check the wiring and when you are hooking up the ground wires make sure they are exactly 1cm a part.

just to comment on the ground wires. the sheet i went off of told me to tap the first one an inch after the harness and the second three inches after the harness. It works fine. I just kinda guessed and didnt really measure just make sure the brown is before the black.

yeah i dont like the one for the vents either, besides i like alittle comfort so i use my heat and air. I was thinking about puting it under my head unit as well I may have to get a different kit to make it fit right but ill check around. Saw a pick a few threads down of one on a 1g that looks good with it under the deck.

This is straight from apexi-usa.com. If it works then no problems, the only reason they do this is to keep the ground a constant value.

Correct Installation Method for the Grounding Wires
Connect the grounding wires to the two positions on the same line.
Be sure to connect the brown wire to the ECU side.
Allow a space of 1 cm or more between the connecting point of the black wire and the connecting
point of the brown wire.

I have mine in a pretty unique place that ive never seen before, on the little plastic peice where the button is for the sunroof i have 2 little screws holding my mounting bracket upside down and the AFC is velcroed to it so i can flip it up and down when i want to see it. This is also a good thing because people cant see it while im driving or walking past my car so it doesnt give them any ideas on trying to break into my car. Ill get a pic up later.

Same. The logger too.

It's easy to see and adjust without getting in the way too much. It does vibrate like crazy on the highway which drives me nuts...

The best place I ever saw was on my friends gsx. It was mounted inverted where the rear view mirror is. It looked just like a rear view mirror, justs an afc instead. It looked amazing.

That is exactly where I wanted to put mine, but with a Spyder, it would be way too easy to grab when the top was down.

how about some pictures?

I have mine below the factory radio next to normal cigarette lighter location. I have a gauge where the cigarette lighter usually is though. :thumb:

i have the gauges in the center vents and like everyone i said i would look terrible or its going to effect my heat and cooling. after thnking about i said screw it i have another center vent at home i should try it out and you know what i like it. my heat works just as good as it did before, just dont have heat blowing right in my face by the center vent but the car still gets hot just as fast as before, also i have my afc mount pushed in the crease between the center vent and dash. its very clean no velco or screws to mount it. also have my datalogger set up just like mybeatgsx but i have a custom bracket i can use for my ipod too. very clean too i just used a piece of bendable aluminum and thin double sided sticky pad(foamish stuff). i'll try to get a pic up.

i had my above the center console vents but then i got pulled over a couple of times and its right next to my shifter.

Ah, i forgot all about this thread, heres the pic.

I like the glove box personally. Sometimes I have a friend in the car, and I jump out to go grab something...i'd hate to have one of them think "hey, what's this things do?" and start tweaking around with it. with it in the glove box, it's out of my mind, and out of their sight.
Although, I guess I could just use the pass-lock option...meh, i'm happy with it in the glove box...don't have it to show it off, just to dial the car.
