I ask because just looking at my rear tires it appears to have about 2-3 degrees negative camber in it. Is this the factory specified camber for the rear or has someone adjusted it to have a bit of neg camber.

suspension is stone stock.

perhaps if this is the factory setting this is why 2gs understeer? more camber in the rear than in the front?

Sure. Most of us use the DIY camber kit, longer bolts and spacer washers.

would that not be to reduce the camber when lowering the car to prevent excessive camber?

so mine must be factory at about 3 degrees, enough to be visible if you really look.

Factory camber shouldn't be that much. I just got mine aligned, and IIRC the specs for the rear are around 1 degree, give or take .5 due to my crappy memory. BTW my car is lowered about 1.5 inches and I have about 2.5 degrees of negative camber, so something isn't right with yours if it is stock height.

Most cars, including DSM's, have a suspension design that increases NEGATIVE camber when compressed. Since lowering compresses the wheels, you end up more NEGATIVE camber than the stock settings. To some extent this is not bad, desirable even, if your one who likes high speed cornering. The result of most DSM lowering though is excessive NEGATIVE camber in the back. We add spacers to add camber or make it less negative.

Don't wory too much about how it looks. Measure it.
