XS Power FMIC vs. fog lights

Ok I read alot of that "friggin' huge thread". I got a headache from it and can't find an answer to these questions so I'm gonna ask before I buy:

Can you use this intercooler with fog lights? I know that those tabs are in the way, but they look hollow so I'm thinking they could just be cut off. But even after cutting them off is there still enough clearance for the fog lights?


Sorry for the thread title... I know the FMIC would be better to have since I never have the need to use my fog lights, but since they are already there I wouldn't mind doing as lil' modding to keep them in.

I have not tried it with foglights but i would think that with this kit you would'nt be able to retain the foglights. I know that after my install there isnt really much room for anything there. And on the drivers side the pipe for the in side of the intercooler, i believe would deffinatley be in the way.

Luis did a great job with the write-up, lots of pics.

It looks like you won't be able to use the stock foglights.. the tabs mount to foglight bolt holes and the endtanks are in the way.

I have the kit, but haven't installed it yet

YOU WONT be able to use the fog lights. The piping goes right through the section of the foglight/housing/wiring. Even if you were to rewire it or whatever. There is a good amount of shaving of the front bumper.

No you won't be able to use the stock fog lights, at least on a 97-99 (thats what i installed on). I used the stock fog light holes (outer ones) to hold up the side tabs for the intercooler.
