I am getting a upgraded sidemount to max out my 14b and was wondering what company makes the best? Would it be ADFX, Dejon Tool, or Hahn? I noticed the Dejon tool one is bar and plate but don't know if the other two are. Thanks alot.

From what I have read on here time and time again, go with the Supra side mount, realitively easy to install and works great for that 14B. :thumb: This will also be a lot cheaper route then buying a HRC or Dejon tool, etc. Just a thought.

The only reason I wasn't considering the Supra one is that I hear it is a Hack job and people been having probs with the end tanks blowing off over 20psi. I just don't want the hassle. I want to be able to buy the sidemount and bolt it in. I also hear they flow more than the Supra cores too. What you guys think?

What are your goals for the car?? Like when that 14b gives out are you going to do a 16G upgrade, or is the 14B all you are looking to do? Just trying to figure out everything you will need intercooler wise.

for a few $$$ more you can just get a good size fmic and be ready for the next turbo upgrade, you will get tired of that 14b quick.
dont waste your money on the sidemount. just my .02

I didn't ask what the best SMIC is in order to be suggested to get a FMIC. I am looking to be in the stock appearing class. Which is the best?

stock appearing class

well to answer your ? no one is going to know what cooler out of the three mentioned "performs" the best unless someone has used all 3 in there set up. As far as "what company makes the best" (your words) that is a matter of opinion man. come on use some sense.

and by the way a big ass sidemount does NOT appear stock.

you trying to look stock so you can cheat at SCCA
and say no intercooler upgrade its stock?? LOL :p

anyways
i would go with the dejon tool sidemount if i absolutely had to(my opinion).
but i still suggest the fmic.

dejon sidemount "no pipes" $450

dejon street fmic "with pipes" $550

dejon huge race fmic only"no pipes" $650

good luck with that :thumb:

Must we argue. It was asimple question. Up here, stock appearing is stock appearing. Tell me how someone is going to tell that there is a intercooler upgrade in the car with out jacking it up or removing the plastic cover? The point was simple. All I want to know is which ones are supposed to be built the best. Who has a upgraded SMIC and how is it working for them? I noticed the Dejon Tool one is a Bar and plate core, are the other's? What are the dimensions of the Hahn SMIC since they don't give them? Not everyone is in need for a big ass FMIC. If I had 1500 to buy a FMIC and a Turbo to use it I would. But quite frankly I am happy with what I have now and if I wanted a bigger turbo I would have baught it in the first place. It's funny how every one sets arguements on this board based on upgrades. Seems like you all think we are all out to make 500HP monsters.

WOW OMG

no one is arguing but you.
reread the post.
and the SCCA thing is a joke people do cheat at the track if they can somtimes.

i said to get the side mount "the opinon that you wanted"

and suggested getting a fmic
the street core will compiment your set up well for a value price.
no one said you have to get a monster or need one.

and if you want spec's for the coolers try visting their sites
i looked this one up for you in about 1 min.

http://www.hahnracecraft.com/hahn/parts/intercool.htm
bar and plate core
2-1/2" pipes in and out
4-1/2" thick X 10" wide
270' cubic inches total cooling volume

i was just trying to be helpful and causal at the same time but
if it will make you happy i will refrain from responding to any of your future posts

lighten up man.

do the supra sidemount ... plenty for your goals. All of the other smics cost almost as much as a nice fmic so those seem like a waste of time. I also have heard of the supras leaking from the endtanks because 1 has to be flipped or something like that. IF you were really serious about using that intercooler then I would just weld the tank on after you flip it and have nothing to worry about. BTW .. bigger smics are easily spotted by someone that knows anything about these cars.

It is true you do have to flip over one of the end tanks so it looks like our intercoolers some people epoxy the endtank so there is less of a chance of leakage. I don't remember the cfm numbers of the top of my head but the supra flows almost double our stock intercoolers. I running one with a evo III I haven't run more than 20 psi but I haven't had any boost problems either. It isn't a direct replacement so some elbow grease is involved.
