edmonton,
I recently purchased my car and do not have it insure at this time so I was only able to drive it directly to my house. So having the car idling in the driveway it produces white smoke from thhe exhaust, Now the gas in the car is roughly 8 months old, can that have something todo with it?
I am letting the car idle each day to get rid of the old gas, since I cannot drive it.

check my mods in my profile to see if anything in there can effect this also.

Does it do this when you rev the motor, if the smoke stops when you get on the gas and then returns once you let it idle down, then I would say that the turbo seals are shot.

More than likely bad gas. The white "smoke" you are seeing is steam from the water that has been produced due to the gas breaking down. Personally, I would drain the shit gas out and use a can to fill a couple of gallons so you can drive it to the station when you get insurance. It probably won't cause any real problems and may actually steam clean your cylinders for you. However, if the gas has broken down too much then you do run a slight potential for hydrolock.(very slim chance) I try not to take chances with my car though.

The car actually idles and drives fine, the little bit that I was able to drive it anyways. What would be the most effecive way of draining it? syphon?

Sorry my HD crashed and I just got my computer running again. If you are still having a problem, you can drain the gas via the drain plug on the bottom of the tank. Put it on jack stands and have a suitsable container available with enough capacity to hold however much gas is in the tank. I don't know how the disposal laws are in Canada but a gas station should be able to tell you how/wher to dispose of the bad gas,
