i have two motors. well two and a half sort of. but i have both a six bolt and a 7 bolt motor. im going to swap out my 7 in my 2g and put in a 6 bolt. but im wanting to know if some of you could help me decide which of the parts from my 7 bolt motor i should keep to put onto my 6 bolt motor. i know i should keep the exhaust manifold. but that's about all that i know. what else is there that i should keep?

and also, i have a brand new clutch for my 7 bolt, but if i'm switching to a 6 bolt, would i have to get a whole new clutch kit or could i just swap out the flywheel to a 6 bolt pattern and use my current clutch? thanks, any help would be appreciated

Yes, keep the exhaust manifold since its larger. The clutch you have is fine you just need a new flywheel so now is the time to get an aluminum one. As for the rest of the stuff, keep as much of it as you have space for. The valve cover, if there are no cracks, is good to keep and as for the rest you might be able to sell it as long as the motor was running when you pulled it. :dsm:

Are u postitive about the clutch issue? all i need is a new flywheel? im only so skepticle because i've heard both ways. i need a whole new clutch; i need only a new flywheel. so i need to know for sure

Go to ACT & RPS's Website, look up both your car and a 1G, cross reference the part numbers... you find they are the same. On RPS's website they only list the Eclipse Turbo. They aren't split up into 1G and 2G. I have sold many clutch kits and they are the same. It is possible some other companies are different, so I won't pretend like I know everything, but I have yet to run into this problem. It's the flywheel that is different. As for the sensors, you should have known about them already.:dsm:

you could save the piston heads, but i dont know if you want to go through opening up your bottom end and everything, because they would need to be machined to fit your 1g rods....
