Where is the fuel pressure regulator

On the 95 eclipse. And is it different on a 97? (both 420a's) It seems like the vacuum line on the 97 went straight to the tank. And the orriginal one on my 95 appears to have been removed back before I had the car. And I just never knew about it. (Learning as I go) went looking for it after I was searching about another issue I had, and the hell if I can find it anywhere.

If anyone has a pic of it on a 420a that would be amazing.

Some have the regulator on the rail, and some are in the tank. Apparently it isn't uncommon for people to put the older style rails on the newer returnless cars, and cap off the return line at the rail.

There was a thread about it last week with pictures and everything.

I tried to search, what was the name of the thread?

Every time I've put fuel pressure regulator in the search, I come up with turbo applications, which is not what I need :|

Edit : Ok so I found the FPR on the 97, its up under the side of the car near the fuel tank, right after the fuel filter.

Now, admitting something ridiculous here >.> I never knew my car had a fuel filter out side of the tank, I thought thats what the 'strainer' was for -3 points to me for listening to people who apparently had no clue what they were talking about.

I've located mine on the firewall, under the washer fluid reservoir. So, this indeed means those fools just disconnected my FPR, I had suspected something wasn't right for a long time, because my fuel pump was always noisy, but the car always ran fine, so I figured it was because the fuel pump was right under the back seat.

Lesson learned. I really wish there was someone around here (my town) that knew wtf they were talking about, I'd have known all this without having to learn the hard way -.-

So far I've found that the 95 420a's had the FPR on the fuel rail, well this is a 97 engine, and I believe the last engine was also from a 97, so the fuel rail has no FPR on it (which is why they just blocked it off, they thought it was just a fuel return line and newer engines didn't need it).

So a few things, would no FPR explain fuel contaminating my oil? (too much fuel pressure)

Can I rework the 95 and use the 97s layout of fuel filter in the back? Or : Can I put the FPR on the fuel filter on the firewall and just reconnect the fuel return line that 95 had to have had at some point?

The car is mostly stock (which is how I plan to keep it, for Fuel mileage sake)
