I have a similar question..............I want to put my flip out and radio in my 1G dash. What brackets do I need? and or where do i get them?

sorry to jack ur thread dude.

PM me, i can probably get you these brackets

surprising how many people actually need those brackets. out of all the parts cars iv owned, thats one of the first items to get asked about. that and sun visors. so yea, like devlish said, pm him, or me ;) or go to dsmtrader, theres probably some on there

i didn't know we needed those brackets. i installed my radio without them. it worked fine for me. i just bent out the tabs to hold the radio to the trim peice. then i took some vac hose torward the back of the inside of the dash there were two nipples so i put the vac hose there and it holds the back of the radio works fine for me.

some stock 1Gs have a single big hole in that trim piece, others actually have a divider in the middle. you could easily get by without those brackets if you have the trim piece w/ the divider. then YES, you could just bend the tabs around that. i'm assuming that's what wishihadatalon did with his.

otherwise, GHETTO- RIGGED works sometimes too! :thumb:

mine were attached to my factory stereo/cd when it was removed ..

It should be the thing that keeps the stock unit together?? i dont understand how people dont have these ..

If you are talking about the two bent peices of sheet metal that are on the sides of the stereo in the picture .. they should be attached to your stock unit.

Luke :dsm:

well the reason why i dont have it is them is because when i bought my car off some guy it had no radio in it so i had nothing that came with the stock radio.
