Where can I buy custom silicon hoses?

Hi guys, I'm looking for a shop that can make a custom silicon elbow for my new IC set up. I searched and I e-mailed a few people but none of them makes custom hoses. Any help would be appreciated.

What kind of "custom" hoses are you looking for, are you planning on running an actual hose for you piping (aka. not a good idea, at least it won't help performance)? Otherwise you can find nearly any coupler in the world in 45' 90' reducers of all sizes, hump hoses, etc... from searching the supporting vendors of this site. If you need help finding some try here for nearly any size you want. I've never had a problem with dsmotorsport so I would recommend them, and their prices are competitive.

Its not plausable for a company to make custom hoses, too many molds needed to fit every degree someone could think of in may different lengths. Try calling up samco, or SBR and see if either of them could get a hold of the length and angle silcon hose you are looking for and in what ply (1, 2, 3,4)

Try any of those sites that you were given, they have a large selection of hoses, but you will not find a place to make a custom one of a kind silicon hose set up for the meare reason I gave you...its too expensive of an ordeal for them to make custom hoses that only one person may need.

Thanks for the replays guys. I'm looking for a 60 degree reducer elbow from 2.5 to 2.25 inches. That is what I mean by custom. I have seen a few 45 degree elbows here and there but nothing with a 60 degree angle. I checked the sites listed above and more before starting this thread.

I will probably end up using a rubber elbow at the end.

Silicon and silicone, they are two different things?? Sorry if I'm dense here. I just thought there was silicone and rubber.

Plain rubber will not work. Nylon reinforced rubber will hold for a while but will eventually blow at higher boost levels. Your best bet is to use a 45* silicone elbow, short section of mandrel bent pipe, and then a straight silicone reducer coupler. Your other option would be to use a straight coupler, 90* mandrel bend sectiond to make the radius you need, and then another straight reducer coupler. Final option would be to have a pipe mandrel bent and use a straight coupler on both ends, one being the reducer coupler. And with any silicone hose you get, make sure it is either 3 or 4 layer reinforced silicone, not just plain silicone.

I honestly think(without seeing what you are trying to do) you could probably get away with a 45* reducer made from silicone. The extra bend can be fudged in the clamping area without collapsing the coupler. You just need to try and be creative to get it to work. Im sure if you try hard enough, you can find a way to make up the extra 15* by tweaking the hard pipes. If not, you should either buy a bolt on kit or just give up on modding dsm's. Im not trying to be an ass but if this has you at a standstill, you dont have the creativity that it takes to mod a dsm.

Now that I looked at you profile, why are you doing a supra fmic? You should have just gotten a dsm fmic which is a direct bolt on. If you meant supra smic(which is what they come with, not a fmic) you could just call dejon and they could get you the proper licp for the supra smic. Then, all you would have to do is cut one section out of the stock supra rubber ic hose to make the bend to match the dejon licp and supra smic. Thats what I did 3 yrs ago and it worked well.

I have the LICP ready to go. My issues are with the UICP. I didn't get an FMIC because I live in Arizona and my car runs hot in the summer as is - 120 F ambient is pretty hot for the 4G63. I also don't plan to go beyond 300hp. I am "creative", and I will get it working eventually. Having that particular hose is the best option for my set up which naturally I want to try first.

I don't really appreciate the comment about giving up on modding DSMs. If I can rebuild a head on my own without having ever done it before I can probably install an aftermarket IC don't you think?

You don't need a reducer to go from 2.5 to 2.25 inches. You can easily squeeze a coupler much more that a quarter inch.

"Silicon," we make into hard things like semiconductor chips and glass.
"Silicone," a polymer containing silicon amoung other things, we make into soft things like hoses and breast implants.
