So I've used the Portfueler on a few different 420a's and never used a tach adapter, worked perfectly fine even though I've read mixed opinions as to whether you use one or not. I had an MSD 6212 on my car that I had removed some time ago and was going to re-install. I have the tach adapter, but for the sake of making things cleaner and a simpler install, I was thinking of not using the tach adapter. My question is, why/when is it needed? Why do some 420a's with pf claim it is needed and some do not? What's the difference between the 420a's that need it and the one's that don't?
