Strathroy,
ok so hes my problem i broke the return coolent hose from my turbo soooo... I fixed it and toped up the coolent but the thing is is that its just sitting there its not cycling so whats going on here why isent it going down and cycling through? does it only do it when it gets to a certin temp?

Brad :)

If your asking weather the coolant should flow or not, the water pump is belt driven and should be pumping coolant through the system anytime that the engine is running.

The coolant does not go anywhere until the thermostat opens.

Or blast the heat or just pour it straight into where the radiator cap is.

Where do you think the heat comes from? :) It comes from coolant circulating through the heater core. If he isn't warming up his car enough to open the thermostat, turning on the heat doesn't do anything.

Mine flows the second I start the car. And yes I have a t-stat in there, working or not, I really don't know.

Coolant does not begin to flow through the radiator until the engine is up to the operating temp of the thermostat. If you have a 180 thermostat, collant wont flow until the car reaches at least 180*. Same if you have a 190* thermostat, and so forth and so on. Turning the heat on full blast will do nothing but prolong the time the engine gets to operating temp. I know both of these have already been said but I figured I would just put them together in 1 post.
