So I did a compression test that yielded 2 low cylinders (3 and 4), so i took it to the dealer to have them do a leakdown test and analyze where and what the exact issue is. Upon their compression test and leakdown test, they say its only cylinder 3 that is low.
My readings were for dry: 180 180 150 155
Their readings were 175 175 150 175
Personally I think the dealership is fulla idiots (especially since they test drove it on a potentially blown engine). I did my test at WOT dry AND wet.
Now, I'm curious. If they are right, and its just cylinder 3, that likely means bad valves or a bad piston ring (or cylinder wall). Since it is not in the service level limit yet, what would be the ramifications on continue driving it until I have the means / time / necessity to rebuild the block?
If its the rings or cylinder wall, is the damage already done, or will it get progressively worse? Before i tested the compression, the card pulled pretty strong (tick was noticable however). I thought to do a compression b/c i had oil spraying under load from my dipstick (blowby?).
What you guys think?
