Hey guys first post here. I just got my car on the road last week after owning it for nearly two years but an issue has shown itself. So the car idles perfectly just after start up but after I drive it for a bit and come to a stop it then idles high. Me and my dad think it has something to do with the cruise control. When we use cruise control I haven't noticed any issues with it. Just trying to get some ideas on what the issue could be also the car is completely stock minus a new exhaust.
Thanks in advance

Im not an expert on idle for stock cars. But first i'd say fill out your profile, make sure to say what year and generation car you have. Other than that, welcome! and good luck

How high of an idle? like 1200 rpm? 1500? stock should be around 700-750 rpm or so

Thanks I have setup more of my account and when I start the car it's like 850 idle because me and my dad set it a little higher then stock but when I come to stop after driving for a bit it's like 2000 rpm and when I blip the throttle it goes back down slightly

this right here is your problem. You can't set it higher than stock. If you do ecu just tries to lower it back down which will take your ISC out of range. You need to set idle to factory specs using the idle set procedure. If the car idles poorly at 750 you will need to diagnose why.

One more comment. It's not possible to idle at 2000 if all the stock components are installed and functional. Idle position switch (IPS) will prevent this. Check for throttle cable adjustment especially as car warms up. Check and make sure throttle actually closes and hits the stop. Also make sure the car has the throttle body ground strap. Idle position switch doesn't work without it. Throttle body gaskets prevent proper ground to IPS without this strap or equivalent.
