NEW TROUBLE.... SEE LAST POST PLEASE!!! we thought i needed a new MBC but i got a new one and that was not the problem.... ### ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT!!!

Ok, not a boost leak somewhere?
You probably have boost leaks, most people do, but because you were able to boost past 20psi on your test run, boost leaks are not the reasons behind your inability to increase boost, this is not to say you're off the hook on boost leak testing.

Deffinately need a new MBC ?
If you're 100% sure that you did it correctly this time, you have a defective MBC.

OK..................

I just recieved and put on my new hallman pro MBC. Hooked it up correctly and I STILL CANNOT BOOST PAST 8 PSI !!!!

im getting so f'n frustrated, I hate dsms..

WTF else could be wrong with my car? :(

Clockwise to up the boost
Counter clockwise to decrease
.. Its on the top of the nob.

And with the knob turned all the way in, you're only getting 8psi. If so, test run again with the actuator fitting open, same test you did when you boosted 20+psi.

Yes i just disconnected the line from my MBC to my wastegate, boosted about 15psi when i let off, would have went higher I think.

so its not the wastegate then?

1. Is the MBC knob turned all the way in.

2. Did your Hallman come with two springs? If so, did you change it to the heavier spring.

This is clearly a MBC issue, you must be doing something wrong. Your stock BCS is not connected in conjunction with the MBC is it?

Yes I turned it down all the way counterclockwise.

No, It's the Pro version, not the rx.

--Boost control selonoid? (sp?)...thats in the top right-hand corner of the engine bay right? If so, no. I think my boost gauge is spliced off one of the lines up thier however.

No, that is the FPS (Fuel pressure solenoid), BCS is located under your mas/air filter.

Yes I turned it down all the way counterclockwise.
That is why you're getting stock boost. Now turn it up (CW to turn the knob in) to increase boost, first couple of turns usually don't do anything BTW.

Oh yea i know. I turned it back down after trying to turn up my boost the other day. I turned it about 4-5 Full clockwises turns from the bottom and still nothing. I didnt know if it would hurt the turbo or anything if i left the mbc turned out so i just turned it back all the way down until I can figure out whats up.

You simply didn't turn it CW enough. Test run with the knob turned all the way IN, IN as in CW, turn it until it bottoms out, expect to see the same result as your test runs with the actuator fitting open.

Well, im pretty dang sure its IN as far as it goes... but i gotta head to work now so ill try again on my way thier. If you got any other ideas shoot them over here, ill be home around 2am :( thanks again.

user error :)

Got it working LOL. Didnt turn it enough, im retarded. When i started turning it up to add boost it got really snug and hard to turn past the middle point. I just turned the balls out of it and it kept going, LOL.

So now i got it Spiking at 17-18psi and dropping to a steady 15psi untill the tranny shifts and it drops to 10 and rises back to 15 at the top of the RPM'S. Does that sound right?
