I was wondering if anyone knows the difference's between the fwd and awd pumps on a 90-94 laser/eclipse/talon?

On the ExtremePSI website they specify different pumps for the different kits.
Example:
255 HP AWD Pump Model GSS341
255 HP FWD Pump Model GSS342

I remember on another site, there were variations that needed to be specified before buying the kit. So there are variations in the models, but I do not know what those differences are and if it makes a difference for an install.

Appreciate the replies. I have someone buying my fuel pump that was for a 90 turbo fwd laser. He has a awd talon. I was just wondering if it was going to be something that was going to be problem for him? Every pic I look at it seems like everything is the same. But then again they are probably using the same pic for every pump.

Ok so the inlet and the plug for the wiring is swaped around. The reason the install kits are differant is because the FWD pump uses a fuel line to connect the pump to the line. The AWD uses an o-ring and a little plastic piece to connect everything together. From the way it looks the AWD can be used in both sending units but the fwd is stuck to be used in the fwd housing

This shows the differance between the pumps the one on the left is the AWD:

Here they are in the housings. Its hard to see but the AWD housing the inlet sits right up against the bracket its on the right of the picture:

I really appreciate that! He has already picked up the pump. I guess he will let me know what he is going to do.

You can use the AWD ona FWD. Thats what i have. Only thing is the mouning, in which all you need to do is use PLENTY of zip ties to hold it against the bracket. Ive had this for 8 months and never had any problems :thumb:
