So my 1990 Talon Tsi had a misfire and no acceleration power so I pulled each spark plug wire off individually and when I pulled cylinder's 2,3, and 4 the car almost died, but when I pulled off cylinder 1 it ran the same. Does this sound like a weak ignition coil or something else?

Thats kind of what I was thinking I rebuilt my engine and got new plugs and wires I'll try a new coil and see if that works. They're cheap enough.

If number 1 is the only cylinder with weak spark than i would suspect that the plug wire is the problem. 1 and 4 both use the same coil so they would both show weak if that side of the pack were bad. Use a multimeter and check the plug wires and coils for proper resistance.

I got NGK plugs and Bosch wires. I'll check the wires and see if the wire inside the rubber boot isn't making contact with the plug or something wierd like that.

Well I think I have a bad spark plug in cylinder number 1, I'm going to get a new set tomorrow. I checked the resistance of wires and the repair manual said 10,000 to 22,000 ohms, but mine were like 7,000 on the shortest to like 11,000 on the longest. If anyone has oem wires is that what yours are at???

Did you try switching the spark plug to a different hole first? See if the problem follows the plug and that will say if its, the plug or not.
