venom 400 or AFC-II

Hey so I've read a lot of post, both on N/T and turbo N/T's. And now I have a question of my own, that I could not find the answer too? (maybe I didn't look hard enough) but if someone could help me out that would be great.


I have a 99 eclipse NT with some basic mods like CAI,headers, cat-back, plugs and wires, and a full suspension.

Now I wanted to stop spending money on N/T items, and save up for a turbo. (Star or Hahn)

But I catch myself looking at the venom 400 thing, and I was wondering if I should spend the $325 on that or spend $350 on the AFC-II? which will be better in the short and long run? And can I use the Venom 400 thing when I have my turbo?

I've heard nothing but bad things about the Venom module. Get the S-AFCII, you can use it n/t or turbo. Make sure you get it tuned properly though. I'll be getting one soon but I'm taking it to a local tuning shop.

I had it and its total crap. it does no more than push the pedal to the floor for you.

You are better off taking a dump on your engine and then running it.
Sure it will stink but it will be free the vemon will cost you a few hundered and still stink.

you didnt look hard enough because there is a thread about the venom 400 on the first page of the non turbo section. ive never heard a good thing about it.

Yeah I saw this thread, and I thought you said it was a good buy, so I decided to ask if I should by it first or buy an AFC-II?

But then I looked at your post again and saw and :thumbdown
so now I am confused, could you point me in the right direction of the original post about this?

i was being sarcastic, it is not a good piece of equipment. go with the S-AFC II.

anything you can actually tune for your car and your mods will be better than something that is just generalized.
