Recently i was going over a few rather large bumps and noticed that my AEM UEGO gauge was cutting out and causing the car to misfire. Shortly after the car would run fine. Eventually the gauge completely shorted and i hunted down the problem. The cable that runs to the sensor was pinched under the battery, splitting the wires open and shorting them out. I purchased a completely new gauge, and swapped out all of the wires except for the ones to the ground, power, and EMS feedback and left the old sensor in just to see if i pinpointed the problem. The gauge now works again but it bounces around on the lean 15-17 side and then soon after only displays three dashes. I took the car for a spin to see what the car would do and it misfires horribly at low speeds and partial throttle but at WOT it runs great. Similar to how it was running just before the gauge completely shorted. I figured what the hell ill just swap out the sensor for a new one and see if that fixes it and no luck. Is it possible i shorted out something in the EMS box?? Could there be a problem with my power and ground wires melting due to the short? I am going to use the new wires tomorrow and see if that fixes it but has anyone had this happen?
Thanks
