I have some Brembo slotted rotors that are a year old, and my pads have completely worn out. Now generally is it recommend to have the rotors turned? Approximately how much does this cost and can only a shop do it?

Its generally not recommend to get you rotors turned because you can go to auto zone and buy new rotors for the same price or even cheaper. In your case It would be cheaper for you to get the rotors turned.

Autozone or Oreillys will turn them for under $20 for both.

Not sure about the slotted rotors.
