I realize that DSMLink is a great tuning solution, but if you have an eprom ecu, why not buy an ostrich and run Tunerpro RT? You get most of the features of link, at half the cost. Plus, you can always switch over to speed density if you desire. I run 11's in the 1/4 and that is what I use

see i can work on my car mechanically and all but once you get into the computers and tuning etc. its all spanish to me. I know link is probably awesome but i wouldnt have a clue as to what i was doing. Go ahead and bash me but I'm gonna leave the computer stuff to the shop, I can do most mechanical and wiring, just tuning scares me.

plus cops and people around my way are everywhere and i wouldn't be able to really do the high rpm tuning without dodging the cops.

Only way to learn is to try. As long as you make small adjustments at a time, it is almost impossible to due any damage.

Have you checked out the dsmlink forums. There so many guides to help you along. I'll admit I was scared too in the begining, but dsmlink is so easy.

When I started tuning my car, I would shift to third on the highway on-ramp and log then tune. As mentioned above just make small changes every time and you'll be fine.

Don't forget to check out the holset thread. There's a guy in my area that run's 11.6 on an hx35 and theres another guy that ran 11.3 on one. The hx40 has made over 500whp at 25psi. You'll spend less on a holset vs a 50trim.

I guess, I'm going to get the wideband if i have to it's cheaper, and if i start to get more money and such down the road then ill get Link.

I'm currently looking at the garret 50-trim, any feedback on that turbo? how good is borg-warner, i never heard of them before?

I know you don't want dsmlink right now but I just want you to understand that it is very easy to tune with. In reality you don't even have to know anything about tuning, just how to use a computer. The reason I say that is with dsmlink forums you can post a log and there are plenty of people on there that will tell you exactly what to change in the settings. So that is like having somebodyelse tune it for you without having to pay them.

4'' is too big I'm doing the garret 50-trim with a innovative lc1 wideband that'll be my set up for now. dsmlink is on my list though

granted that list includes 4-bolt rear, paint, new rims, and a beater car ha

dude, you think I knew anything about tuning a car when I bought DSMlink? I was going to go the AFC + logger route too. Save yourself the trouble. Go with DSMlink, the forums are FULL of knowledge and helpful people that are more than willing to show you the ropes.

ok, the link is in my future, like in a year, when i'll be looking for more things to add to my car. I'm not spending $900 on tuning equipment, it's not smart at this point. OR maybe I'll boot leg it, or borrow someones.
