Turbonectic GT-k series vs Garret GT series

I was wondering why the garret GT series is more popular than the turbonetics gt-k series. does the garret gt bb spin quicker than the GTK series turbo/out perform it? in particular the GT42 and GT - K1000. thanks for the space

garrett turbos are more reliable, some will attest to that but imo they hold up better in the long run, or at least for me they have. Now this is not on a gt42r size either though ROFL
