Sherwood Park,
Hello:

So I am pretty new to DSM's and the forum but have been slowly getting my car ready to put down some more power. Right now I am in the midst of installing a Turbo Timer and I am completely dead in the water. I have the Greddy Full Auto Timer with Harness for a 1g. I plugged the Harness into the blue connectors just like I have been reading.

Anyways I go to turn on the car and everything powers up. Now when I go to turn it off everything dies. I have a feeling it has something to do with my ACC on my ignition. When I go into ACC nothing works. It is just like it is dead. I dont know if it has something to do with it but it might.

Tomorrow I am going to check out some fuses.

Anyways can you guys think of other things that might cause it not to work?

well i got the same turbotimer like you do,and past 6 months i change two of them, cause they got some electrical issues so i recommend you to send the turbotimer back to greddy and let them to fix that cause you cant do it your self unless god gave a gold hands for that :D

if nothing else works when ACC is on, then it's probably not the turbo timer. It sounds like you most likely 'do' have some other electrical issues.

It's either that, or maybe you're shutting your car off wrong? Are you putting the ebrake on, and putting the car into neutral before you're shutting it off? Did you wire up the ebrake wire correctly?

Lol never used a timer,

Get a Viper 8700? has remote start and turbo timer built in, plus its a kick ass alarm system with all the goodies, like $800 installed :thumb:

Sorry I don't have any good info on greddy timer, I stay away from greddy's ovr priced stuff, this is why.

PS. DSM's seem to be notorious for electrical issues mine has some also :notgood:

I guess it doesnt help the situation that the previous owner of the car left a giant pile of wires just sitting behind the ECU. I have no clue where they go and it is just a big mess of wiring harness. Lot of it is for the factory stereo alarm and what else. Pretty much it is a hack and it annoys me. Hard to see that stuff until I crawled up and under. Hopefully this will not be the case though and it is just bad wiring for the e-brake cable.

Alright guys this thing is absolutely killing me. I wired up the brown wire to the only wire I could find on the parking brake. It is a green wire. The turbo timer does not time and turns off when I have the ebrake on and the car in neutral. Everything just turns off and I have no clue what is going on.

Any ideas of what you think the problem could be? The unit powers up when I am on the ON part of the igntion.

I just got it in the mail the other day. So i installed it and it is not working. So it has never been used.

 Well I got the 1g Harness and it is all plugged in. Unless somehow I connected it wrong but then my ignition would most likely not work. Anyways I am actually so confused on the whole matter and dont know what is wrong

well if your ignition not working you got to check :
the main battery fuses. most ingitions have two main powers leads going in. one ignition one acc. If there is power there check the relays

If the turbo timer is on when you turn the car on, Does it say P-1 or something else? If it doesn't say P-1, hold power and press the time button untill P-1 rolls on by. That should keep it running. I had mine stop working, I called greddy and they told me how to swicth modes.

Just to clarify my ignition DOES work fine. I can drive my car all day and the turbo timer lights up. I have tried switching between auto and p1 and even changing the settings on the turbo timer through the different modes like 1G and ACC. This thing is absolutely annoying. I cannot think of anything that would cause my turbo timer not to work besides some missed wiring.

Just to clarify theres only 1 wire on the handbrake correct?

My friend lent me an extra turbo timer and I am going to splice this one directly into the ignition wires. I am doing this before I start hacking my brand new one with the harness. Hopefully it is just a fault in the turbo timer or the wiring harness. I will double check all the wiring and hopefully it works.

Well I finally figured it out after much time. I looked at the turbo timer harness and I guess I got the wrong one. Who would have known hey? The package is all in Japanese so I had no idea I got the wrong one. In short there was no wire for the 12 volt constant would which explain why it did not stay on when the car was off.

Anyways I just hardwired it in and it works like it should. Thanks for the suggestions.
